Meal Prep and Chill

Starting a new weight loss plan or looking to drop a few pounds? Preparing your meals in advance is the best way to stay on track. An individual is less likely to consume unnecessary calories from grabbing a meal in a pinch opposed to if he or she has a home prepared meal in advance. The term “meal prep” has become a universal activity for those involved in the fitness community. There are various ways to go about your meal prep to make it predictive, enjoyable, and hassle free.
Time yourself wisely. Prepping your meals in advance does take some time but ultimately saves you time throughout your busy week. Typically, I will prepare my meals on Sunday for three days. On Wednesday, I have another prep session for the rest of the week. This method I feel keeps my food tasting fresh. Another method is using a Saturday or Sunday to prep for the entire week. You can freeze your meals to keep them fresh and thaw them out as the week moves along. It is important to look at what works for your schedule and make prepping apart of your routine. Before you know it, it becomes natural. If you have a schedule that does not allow you time to cook up your meals in advance, there are many different meal prep companies that will do it for you. Custom meal prep services available through Fairfield Nutrition Zone give customers a multitude of clean and tasty meals, packed and ready to eat.
Keep things interesting. Choose a theme or specific ingredients that you would like to use each week. Try to change things up. This will keep you engaged and more likely to stick to the plan. Decide on a protein, carbs, fats, and veggies for the week and shop accordingly. Add flavor to your meals with spices and zero cal dressings such as Walden Farms. To make things even easier, also be sure to always have a few staples on hand in your kitchen.
While this lifestyle change may be a bit time consuming at first, I can guarantee that preparing nutritious meals that you can eat daily will help you feel god not only physically but mentally as well. A little thought and planning can go a long way. Meal prepping can even be enjoyable and a way to get creative. Cooking is an art. You are the sculptor of your body. You choose what you put into it for the end result- so choose quality!
